Jma Clonable Keys
by Bart Steele
Have you ever lost or even damaged your car key to the point where fixing the key wasn't an option? In this situation, one of the first calls you make might be to a locksmith. Unfortunately though, many times a small mom a pop local locksmith will deliver you an unexpected answer..."I'm sorry sir/ma'am we're actually not equipped to cut that key for you, you may want to check with the dealer". Well there's good news for owners of North American market automobiles whose vehicles require the use of transponder keys. Key blank manufacturer, JMA, has recently introduced a new line of fixed and encrypted, clonable automotive transponder key blanks for the North American market.
JMA's clonable automotive keyblanks are discernible by a color-coded jewel that is placed at the head of each and every keyblank. The different color-codes are Blue, Green, and Red. A keyblank with a blue jewel is an indication that the keyblank is equipped with a Texas Instruments encrypted value transponder. Encrypted value transponders are single use only, they CANNOT be re-written. A keyblank with a green jewel is an indication that the keyblank is equipped with a fixed value transponder, which is an interchangeable transponder between available vehicle manufacturers. Fixed value transponders are re-writable, thus can be changed over and over again. And finally the red jewel keyblank indicates the keyblank is without a transponder, which will also accommodate both ceramic and glass tube type transponders. With these tools available as well as highly accessible to locksmith's in major cities as well as smaller, customers calling in with transponder car key issues should have a better chance of being serviced through their local residential locksmith and not the dealership.
With clonable transponder keyblanks JMA has made it possible for locksmiths to purchase these transponders separate from keyblanks or removed from the green jewel keyblanks and inserted into the red jewel keyblanks as their inventory changes. JMA is the 2nd largest manufacturer of key blanks in the world with 5 production facilities and 9 distribution centers across Europe and the Americas, and you can find their homepage at http://www.jmausa.com
